A textile that stops bleeding

BLOOD COAGULATION TEXTILE

CRYSTALS TO BLEED FOR

Potassium alum has the unique characteristic to disinfect and make blood coagulate faster by speeding up the process of clot formation. The earliest known application of alum is linked to the Egyptians around
2000 B.C.

To bandage cuts and bruises this project aims to integrate the alum crystals in textile for quick blood clotting. The natural salt can be sprayed onto textiles or directly on the wound. It crystallizes and can be washed away with warm water.
